Most of you should be receiving by email a monthly summary report of email and files processed through your account. CDR Simplified In its simplest term, it’s a mechanism for protecting documents by disassembling them in an analytical way. Almost in the same way an analyst would dissect the file but actually automate that process rather than conventional antivirus system which focuses more on markers. This system is designed to actually completely deconstruct and validate the document at almost the level of DNA over the document itself. You’re looking for specific structure and every little element in every marker that should be in place that shouldn’t be in place in every construct. Then reconstructing, having validated the data held in that particular file at that level. We do check every bit and byte within the document and check the details where it should be and then put it all back together.
Introduction to CDR Content Disarm & Reconstruction (CDR) is the process of stripping potentially malicious data from files before they reach their recipients. Even seemingly innocuous files like Word or PowerPoint documents can have suspicious data hidden in them, including malicious image files to full executable programs. A CDR system breaks down these files to their base elements, removing or otherwise sanitizing potentially harmful contents before either reconstructing them and passing them along to their intended recipient, or withholding them altogether. The parts of files that get filtered correspond to your policy settings, though all CDR policy is orchestrated with the intent to lower risk of incoming threats.Data can be hidden in many ways in a wide number of different file types. A common Microsoft Office document like a Word, PowerPoint, or Excel file can invisibly contain almost any other kind of file within their structure. Even without hiding an entire malicious fil
This is what we do: We create safe, clean and visually identical files, mitigating the risk posed by malicious documents. Rather than trying to detect dangerous content, Glasswall regenerates all files to a safe standard of ‘known good’, enforcing the format’s structural specification and eradicating high-risk active content. Glasswall is a proactive solution. At no point is a signature, an understanding of bad behaviour or detection needed. About Glasswall Trust every file. Open with confidence. Share without risk. Glasswall is a UK-based file-regeneration and analytics company and a leader in the field of Content Disarm and Reconstruction (CDR). Glasswall has clients across business, government, defence and ‘Five Eyes’ intelligence agencies, and they rely on us to expose and control the risk of sharing files and documents.
